On October 26th, 1993, in Towson, Maryland, the Whipsnakes’ outstanding performer was born. He was raised in the city with three siblings. Meghan Dunn’s younger brother, Matthew, is the older brother of Kelly and Ryan Dunn. Matthew Dunn’s parents, Michael, and Brenda Dunn, were in charge of parenting their four children. In four seasons, Matthew led Maryland to three NCAA Final Fours and two NCAA Championship game appearances as a two-time team captain and two-time All-American. In Matthew’s first year of college, he made his collegiate debut, playing major minutes in a 23-6 win over Mount St. Mary’s and causing one turnover in a 16-7 win at No. 19 Duke (3/2). He made his first career start and forced one turnover in a 10-7 win at Villanova.

When Matthew was a sophomore in 2014, he had the following experiences: In a 10-6 win over No. 1 Duke (3/1), two groundballs in an 11-8 win at Stony Brook, forced two turnovers in a 13-5 win at Michigan, started all 17 games at tight defense, accumulating 17 ground balls and nine caused turnovers to help the Terrapin defense hold the Blue Devils scoreless for 26:26.

Matthew started 15 games as a junior, totaling 13 ground balls and causing 11 turnovers. Matthew was part of a close defense that stopped the Navy at just one goal in the season-opening win (2/14), and he picked up one ground ball in the win over No. 11 Penn.

Dunn grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, and attended Loyola Blakefield High School. Dunn was a two-time Division I All-American at the University of Maryland. Dunn was also the 2018 Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time Professional Lacrosse All-Star. Dunn was named to the PLL All-Star Team for 2019.
